Pre-Tap/Jazz and Tap/Jazz I

Pre-Tap/Jazz and Tap/Jazz I are combined for the summer session.

This class introduces young dancers to jazz and tap dancing. Students will learn a warm-up, and different routines as well as basic movement vocabulary and class etiquette. Hoops and scarves are used to encourage creative expression as well as age appropriate popular music to get us dancing. Pre-Tap/Jazz is a great fit for that high-energy kid who can never stop moving!

Ballet 3/(4)

Ballet III and IV are combined for the Summer Session.  New this year, Ballet 3/(4) is now a combined class with students at both the Ballet 3 and Ballet 4 levels.  Students at Level 3 should take this class.  Students at Ballet Level 4 or Tap/Jazz Level 3 or 4 may take this as an added technique class.

Students take the skills acquired in Ballet II and III and build on them. All age levels continue to study at the barre as well as practice center work. As students’ skill levels increase, they will be introduced to more complicated classical ballet steps and vocabulary. Rhythmic accuracy, grace, movement retention and movement quality are emphasized.

Ballet 1/(2)

Ballet I and II are combined for the Summer Session.  New this year, Ballet 1/(2) is now a combined class with students at both the Ballet 1 and Ballet 2 levels.  Students at Level 1 should take the Thursday 3:45 class or the Thursday 5:15 class.  Students at Level 2 in ballet or tap/jazz may take this as an added technique class.

Creative Movement

Using song and music to get our bodies moving through space, young dancers will work on concepts of space, tempo, levels and movement quality. Students use a variety of props and play games to encourage movement. Use of imagination and personal expression are promoted.  Students will learn basic classroom skills such as listening, directions, taking turns, using manners, and playing nicely with others. This is a great a chance to get those extra wiggles out in a fun and safe environment.

Canvas Art

It’s amazing what you can create in a little over an hour!  Register for our Canvas Art workshops and create a beautiful seasonal acrylic masterpiece painted by YOU!  The original is provided with instruction given by RRCAA art instructor Katie Cecchetti to guide you through painting a copy of the original.

Throughout the school year, the workshops are a virtual experience.  A video link is emailed to participants the day of the workshops and is available for viewing at the participant’s convenience for two weeks.

Private Music Instruction

RRCAA provides a full range of private instruction, beginner through advanced levels, offered for both youth and adults.  Days and times vary with the individual instructor.

Please call the RRCAA office at 440-428-5913 to schedule private music lessons. 

Note:  Fees for music instruction are due monthly by the first lesson of each month.  Rates vary per instructor and range from $16.00 – $23.00 per half hour lesson.  There is a $2 service fee when paying by credit card.

Theater Camps

Young actors learn the ins and outs of the theater arts in these two-week camps introducing campers to the exciting world of drama.

Camp location: Stanton Park (Rec Hall) 5585 W. Chapel Rd., Madison. Theater camps are directed by J J Luster.

Just for Juniors Camp   (ages 4 – 8)
Young performers explore the world of musical theater as they have great fun singing, dancing and acting through games, activities and art. A “Show-Off” performance will be held the final day of camp.

Explorer’s Camp  (ages 8 – 12)

Preschoolers Art Camp

Preschoolers can have lots of fun getting messy while creating art and exploring lots of exciting ways to make art in this one-week art camp.  

Preschool Art  (ages 3 – 5)
Children, ages 3 to 5, will explore the five senses as they paint, make collages, experiment with stamping and much more in this very “hands-on” fun camp.  This year Miss Marie is focusing the theme on colors. What a great way to end the summer!

Art Camp

Join Miss Katie and Miss Marie for some summer art fun at Rabbit Run! Campers will be completing numerous projects including sculpture, drawing, painting, sewing, mixed media and more.

Primary Art Camp is tailored for students who have finished kindergarten through 2nd grade (ages 5 – 7), and the Youth Art Camp is for students who have finished 3rd through 5th grade (ages 8 – 10). The Middle School Camp is for students who have finished sixth through ninth grade (ages 11 – 14)

Campers will receive a free t-shirt for the awesome tie-dye project planned for the Primary and Youth Art Camps!

Campers should remember to bring their own water bottle and snack each day.
