Green for her many years of dedicated service to Rabbit Run. \nBetty Jean Green recently retired from her position as Dean of Faculty and private music instruction at RRCAA.  She was instrumental in the establishment and incorporation of the Western Reserve Fine Arts Association (WRFAA) dating back to 1979.  In 2000\, WRFAA unified with The Friends of Rabbit Run Theater.  B. J. served as the first board president of the newly established organization now known as RRCAA. \nIn the late 1970’s she also founded and directed the Madison Chorale.  The Chorale has been a musical outreach of RRCAA and is comprised of volunteer vocalists from Lake\, Geauga and Ashtabula counties.  The Chorale performs throughout the year at public and private functions.  B. DESCRIPTION:The Guest Artist Series are new this year born out of the live nights of music last summer at the barn when the theater was in COVID-19 shuttering.  Each series is in-person at the barn and features some of your favorite Rabbit Run performers.  A streaming option is also available. \nJuly 30\, 31 and Aug. 1 \nA Lovely Night: an Evening of Rodgers & Hammerstein\, the Great American Songbook and More\nfeaturing the vocal talents of Lindsey Leonard with accompanist Ed Leonard. \nLindsey is easily recognizable from her stunning performances at Rabbit Run as Eliza in My Fair Lady\, Nellie Forbush in South Pacific\, Jo Marsh in Little Women\, the Musical and Amalia Balash in She Loves Me.   \nShe has performed opera and musical theatre roles in the Cleveland area with the Akron Symphony\, The Musical Theater Project\, Cleveland Opera Theatre\, the Beck Center\, Cain Park\, Fine Arts Association\, Lakeland Civic Theatre and Rabbit Run Theater. \nHer husband Ed Leonard is an accomplished classical and jazz pianist\, composer\, arranger and educator.  He holds a Master of Music degree in piano performance from Kent State University and is on the fine arts faculty at Western Reserve Academy specializing in digital music.  Over the years he has musically directed and played in many orchestra pits at Rabbit Run Theater. \nAlso performing with Lindsey are vocalists Brian Altman\, Connor O’Brien and Lincoln Sandham. \n                               \nBrian Altman                      Connor O’Brien                        Stephen Sandham \nSpend a wonderful evening at the barn listening to Lindsey’s beautiful soprano voice sing some of your favorite Rodgers & Hammerstein melodies as well as tunes from The Great American Songbook. \nConcerts begin at 7:30 p.m. \nTickets:  $15/person per concert \nClick here to order tickets. \n  \nTop photo courtesy of Kathy Sandham

DESCRIPTION:Even though the barn doors are closed this summer\, we haven’t let that slow us down! DESCRIPTION:29th Annual Juried Art Show Update/Pandemic Art Challenges\nFor twenty-nine years RRCAA in cooperation with the Madison Public Library has proudly sponsored this adjudicated event showcasing the art work of some of Northeast Ohio’s most talented visual artists.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, the 29th Annual Juried Art Show is postponed until April\, 2021. \nIn its place\, this year\, we are pleased to sponsor with the Madison Public Library  Pandemic Art Challenges during the month of October\, 2020.  Artists (high school age through adults) may accept one or all three challenges with submitted artwork being displayed at the Madison Public Library from October 1 – 28.  These Pandemic Art Challenges are a great way to relieve stress and express yourself during these uncertain times–you may even win a prize! \n  \nThe Pandemic Art Challenges Show is up at Madison Public Library through the month of October.\nStop in and vote for your favorite piece of art work and photograph. \nPANDEMIC ART CHALLENGES \nShelter in place sculpture \nUsing only items found at home\, create a sculpture which symbolizes your “shelter in place” experience.  Or symbolizes your feelings of isolation…or freedom from work clothes… \nQuarantine Pop Art \nThis type of art is called pop art and it began in the 1950s. Pop art is a style of art based on simple\, bold images of everyday items\, such as soup cans\, painted in bright colors. Pop artists created pictures of consumer product labels and packaging\, photos of celebrities\, comic strips\, and animals\, etc. \nYour challenge…create a pop art piece inspired by the 2020 quarantine.  What image best embodies the challenges we are experiencing?  Use any medium. \nOutside my Window \nLook out the window of your home or any dwelling which has an interesting view exemplifying your shelter-in-place experience or even your favorite view out of any window. \n\nUse the entire surface\nInclude interior design of window for example frame\, curtains or blinds\nInclude view outside of the window\nMust be 2-dimensional\, any medium\nWrite a description on back listing what window inspired you and why.\n\nEntry forms and art work are being accepted at the library from Sept. 16 – 22 during regular library hours. \n  \nFor an entry form click here. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:While we are not able to produce live performances at Rabbit Run Theater this summer due to COVID-19 restrictions\, we are delighted to offer a number of LIVE concerts at the barn throughout the summer. Best of all\, these concerts are free of charge! What could be better than a lovely evening at the barn with your favorite people enjoying great music! \nProviding the music for these concerts are local favorites Madtown Jazz and The Alibis. To hear a sample of each band’s music\, click on the links below: \nhttps://www.facebook.com/MadtownJazz/videos/161865235153053/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/thealibiscleveland/videos/454455992043729/  \nJust a note\, you may recognize some members of Madtown Jazz as Jim and Erica Slike\, John Koch and John Mullen have all performed both in our orchestra pits as well as onstage at Rabbit Run. \nOne last concert has been added for Thurs.\, Sept. 10 with Paul Hagan.  Paul has been performing acoustic guitar on all different stages for many years.  His wide repertoire of music ranges from the Temptations to Train\, the Everly Brothers to Ed Sheeran and Joni Mitchel to Jason Mraz. \nThe Paul Hagan concert is from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.; grounds are open from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. \nSummer Live Concert Schedule\nJuly 9 – Madtown Jazz\nJuly 23 – The Alibis\nAug. 6 – Madtown Jazz\nAug. 20 – The Alibis\nSept. 10 – Paul Hagan  Added Concert! \nUtilizing state-recommended social distancing practices\, we are able to allow a maximum of 120 people to each event. Guests are welcome to\nbring their own food.* \nDue to limited capacity\, Reservations MUST BE made for these live concerts. \nPlease call the office at 440-425-5913 between noon – 3:00 pm Monday through Friday to make a table reservation. We have 20 tables available that seat six people each. All reservations are on a first-come-first-served basis. \n*These concerts are outside and not in the barn. Grounds open from 6 – 10 p.m. Concert from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Masks are strongly recommended to be worn when not seated at table.
